Camas

CAMAS^® controls the loading & discharging of all Cargomaxx tanks. In case the product is dry cargo, CAMAS^® controls all the valves, compressors, pumps of the Van Aalst discharge system. In case the product is liquid cargo, CAMAS^® controls all the pumps and valves of the liquid cargo system of Cargomaxx. The complete procedure of filling and discharging on the Cargomaxx tanks is controlled by the CAMAS^®. The centre of CAMAS^® is a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). This industrial type of computers is specially designed for the use onboard support vessels. The PLC of the CAMAS^® is installed inside an electrical cabinet in the engine room. To control CAMAS^® a 12” daylight touch screen display is installed in the wheelhouse panel (flush mounted type). From this touch screen all functions can be controlled and monitored. Also there is supplied an separate ECR panel which is similar to wheelhouse panel.

  • Very low skill is required to operate the CAMAS^® with still maintaining full discharge capacity and no possibility of human errors.

  • Because the air supply is regulated by the CAMAS^®, there is no danger of blockage of the cement / Liquid mud line. This is an advantage for operators on tight time schedule of today’s charters.

• Savings on equipment

  • The Cargomaxx control System automatically circulates the 6 tanks with 3 pumps only, all valve settings pumps starting/stopping is automatic. The agitators can therefore be deleted.

• Small wheelhouse panel

  • Wheelhouse panel only consisting of small panel with on/off switch and EM stop and touch screen display. Designer can save on required installation space for other equipment on board.

Discharging program

On the special designed discharge program the advantages are enormous. The CAMAS^® discharge program makes it possible to set the required discharge pressure and the discharging sequence and CAMAS^® will automatically start compressors, dryers and vacuum pumps, liquid pumps, tank washing equipment, after checking with main switchboard (heavy load enquiry function) also for sufficient cooling water supply, then the Cargomaxx tank will be emptied and discharged into the offshore platform. Once the discharging has started the discharging rate will be kept to maximum discharge rate.

Loading program

The CAMAS^® is equipped with a special loading program. The operator can enter which Cargomaxx tanks from which side will be loaded. The CAMAS^® will open the relevant valves. During loading it is visible which Cargomaxx tank is loaded and which Cargomaxx tanks need to be loaded. The program will automatically switch over to the next Cargomaxx tank if full. The operator will be notified by acoustic signal if filling procedure is completed.
